Cymbidium goeringii Tian Cao 天草 - Delicate foliage on this variety is lightly variegated with a thin stripe along the edge. I think thought the best characteristic of this one is the flowers, which seem to have claw variegation on the sepals - very cool - plus a pale color to the usually red markings, giving an almost coerulea look, though I think its just a dilute color and not truly a coerulea.
Cym. goeringii will prefer an intermediate to cool winter, and a warm summer. The species can be bloomed in medium light, but will bloom more reliably in bright light, like cattleyas. Between its size and preference for cooler winter, its an excellent plant for those of you with cold windowsills in winter!
These are blooming size divisions with 3-4 growths each, recently potted. We have choice of slightly smaller plants in 3 inch pots, and slightly bigger ones in 3.5 inch pots. The larger ones have on average more growths and/or more extensive roots. All plants are blooming size.
You will get one of the plants shown, or one similar in size. They are blooming size but not currently in bloom - flower photo is for example only.
