Platycerium quadridichotomum
I am delighted to be able to offer these, a rare in cultivation, small growing species. Mature fertile fronds famously fork in such a way that there are exactly four long fingers.
These are found in nature in an area of Madagascar with a long, distinct dry period, frequently on limestone outcrops. During the dry period, which may last months, these do go dormant. That said, by all reports, they are not often grown with such a dramatic dry period in cultivation and do just fine.
These were imported bare root a few months ago, but I held them back to make sure I was seeing new root growth before releasing them. Everyone has rooted nicely so I will begin releasing a few plants.
We have young plants in small pots of sphagnum. You will get one of the plants shown or one similar in size.
