Rhyncostylis gigantea (spotted x purple)
We have just a couple big, blooming size plants available of this impressive species that can produce up to 20 thick flowers per spike. This group is out of a cross of a spotted purple with a solid purple, so expect rich saturated shades of purple at the very least!
This species can be grown like a vanda - bright light, in baskets - but they can also be adapted to pots with a large chunky mix. I like to use clay pots with these. They prefer warm to hot temperatures.We have well established, blooming size plants. Some have spikes (plural) initiated!
You will get one of the plants shown, or one similar in size. These are seed grown plants, so each will be unique. They are blooming size, but not currently in bloom, though if we have one in spike when you order, you'll get that one!
Note - flower photo is representative of the species and possible markings of this cross, but we expect darker purples from the plants for sale vs the pink shown.
