OOAK (One of a Kind) Container Gardens, this time in Jungle Log format!  I'd like to share with you some interesting combinations of groups of epiphytic plants that like similar conditions, to make a dramatic, top to bottom "jungle-esque" display of vibrant, textural greenery.

This jungle log is a mixed planting containing a Bc Yellow Bird, Gomenkoa Golden Arches, unidentified Rhipsalis, Tillandsia 'Moonlight', and an Easter cactus. They are all well established now, except the Tillandsia which was a recent addition.  This will make a stunning display as the plants age and come into bloom. Can you imagine the cascading display of succulent, branching stems extending down, mingling into the tuft of tillandsia leaves and Cattleya roots, occasionally decorated with flowers? Meanwhile, the Yellow Bird perched on top - these have the advantage of blooming much of the year when mature - new growth after new growth. And don’t forget, yellow bird is night fragrant.

Flower photos show examples of the Yellow Bird, Golden Arches, and Easter cactus.  The plants on the mount are not currently in bloom.
