Chrysothemis pulchella is a beautiful, tuberous gesneriad species with dark, lush foliage and bright yellow flowers on red bracts. The foliage is of a color that is hard to capture on camera. The best attempt at description I can give is deep purple green with copper tones. Tubers can get large quickly, but tend to prefer living below the soil surface in contrast to Sinningia relatives.
I have on offer here seed-grown plants in 3 inch pots. Larger flowering plant shown is their mother, and not currently for sale. But pretty soon, all these little babies will look like that! She is only a few years old.
These like frequent watering and bright light while in active growth, and they will go leafless dormant in the winter. I personally don't keep them cool during this time but do reduce watering.
