This painting grows out of a study of the ephemeral nature of flowers, and the heady nature of spring.
Spring is energizing to me, but also very fleeting. You can see that, I think, in the effervescent, if possibly frantic marks and movements of color. I never feel like there is enough time to soak up the boyant life of spring. How can I break it down into its essential parts, and hold onto them? Should I even try, or does deconstructing that warmth of renewed life into components cause a loss of the whole?
This is a mixed media piece with textures, collage, acrylic, ink, and pastel on archival watercolor paper. This is a tryptic, meaning it consists of three sections that go together to form a whole. Price includes all three sections.
