Dorstenia foetida is an easy to grow caudiciform succulent in the fig family, if you'll believe that. As it grows, it can form caudex-like base with one or more branches. If flowers freely and constantly while in active growth. They generally stay compact.
These are just so stinkin' cute... get it? stinking? "foetida" is its name. If leaves are annoyed, it smells like gasoline. So don't freak out when you open your box, you're just smelling crabby plant. It doesn't release any smell just sitting there, though, just when you brush up against it. So its mostly just a point of interest. And they really are adorable.
Currently available plants are blooming size and recently potted up to 3" pots. They all have nice little caudex trunks forming. I use a high porosity mix with these.
