Frost Rose
An overnight cold snap overwhelms a delicate rose, freezing it in place. Weather can turn on a dime, especially in spring. But, see there - its heart is still warm. It will survive. You can too, just hold on to that promise of warmth.
This original painting is composed of delicate layers of color describing an unfurling rose. Shades of cold blue build up on the outer edges, giving a delicate impression of a coating of fine, translucent ice. Warm yellow shades in the shadows remain, showing the tenacity of life.
This small painting (6x6 inches) is just the right size for a small space on the wall, or on the bookshelf where you need a little pop of color to enjoy. Because its gallery wrapped canvas, if you choose to display it on a shelf or desktop, it can stand on its own or be settled onto a stand. The rose is painted in shades of blue, white, and brilliant yellows with undertones of rose-pink.
