Platycerium bifurcatum x willinckii - Easy to grow, this is an excellent choice for those looking to branch out into more unusual ferns! P. bifurcatum of course is commonly available, and quite easy to grow under a wide range of conditions. The other parent, P. willinckii, aka the Java fern, is similar but has more dramatic, deep lobes on the shield frond, and often the fertile fronds as well. Combined, I think you can expect a fun to grow, medium sized fern suitable for baskets or mounts, as you prefer.
These happy little babies are about ready to grow at light speed, I think. They have rooted exceptionally well, and now begins the adding of new fronds en masse - that's the fun part. A perfect age to establish on a mount.
