Tillandsia crocata | fragrant orange flowers | SapphireChild Orchids

Tillandsia crocata bears a most unusual color flower for a Tillandsia: Orange. And they're pretty good size flowers too. You may sometimes see a yellow form of this species as well, but so far these have all been orange. And the best part - they are wonderfully fragrant!

This is a pretty spunky species, preferring pretty high light and good air movement. Your indicators there are those large and dense silver scales.

You will get one of the plants shown or one similar in size. They are not in bloom, but are blooming size. I grow these with the Cattleya orchids. Can you imagine mounting one on a plaque with a Brazilian cattleya?
