Cymbidium Clare Natasha
x canaliculatum - seedlings

Expect thick foliage bearing abundant flowers on semi-pendant stems, probably red to dark red in color.  They may be fragrant.  Plan on giving them bright light and a cool winter with reduced watering (when mature) for best flowering.  One of its grandparents is ensifolium, so this may grant it some flexibility with respect to winter rest as well as light levels.

Clare Natasha is a sort-of medium sized plant with pendant spikes in shades of burgundy red.

Cym. canaliculatum has long plumes of red flowers and high flower count, and is one of the parents of the famous hybrid Little Black Sambo.  This used a more typical color form of the species, not the near black, which should bring out more red tones in this hybrid.  Note, the species reportedly prefers alkalinity, and many Australian growers top dress the media with a dusting of lime.  For these seedlings, we have incorporated oyster shell into the media.  That won't influence pH but will offer extra calcium, at least.  It's unclear if they hybrid will have any opinions on this matter, but extra calcium is usually appreciated regardless, so its a safe bet.

You will get one of the seedlings shown, or one similar in size, recently potted up to 2.5" pots.  They are a few years from blooming size.  As they are seedlings, each will be unique.
