Huperzia coralia 'Dragon Necklace'

Glossy, overlapping triangular 'scales', these feel like a smooth chain to the touch.  As with many Huperzia, the plant is overall characterized by pendulous, branching stems.

Huperzias are fern allies from a group of plants sometimes called club mosses, fir mosses, or tassel ferns, though they are neither ferns nor mosses, but they do reproduce by spores like both of those things.  Texture of Huperzia foliage varies, but always has some form of long branching stems with leaflet or needle like structures.  They are almost never truly sharp, and are just fun to pet.

Grow in baskets or mounts with sphagnum or other epiphyte medium of choice.  High humidity is appreciated as long as air flow is good.  Many folks report most species adapt well to lower humidity as well - in that case, though, you might want to use a plastic pot so they don't dry out as fast.  They are not demanding of light, and bright shade such as for a phalaenopsis is fine.

You will get one of the plants shown or one similar in size, established in a 2.5 inch pot.
